someone with significant penile scarring, which might complicate locating a proper injection site. anyone with limited finger dexterity, as this might cause issues holding the needle or physically holding the penis for the injection. They are also not recommended for people who will have difficulty accurately performing the injection.Įxamples of people who should avoid penile injections include: However, penile injections aren’t recommended for people with mild erectile dysfunction as the medication may be too strong for their needs. People with erectile dysfunction may find that penile injections are a very effective treatment that can work much faster than some other alternatives. Penile injections are intended for any person who has issues with becoming erect, achieving enough stiffness for penetrative sex, or keeping an erection for the desired length of time. Put the syringe in the sharps container for disposal. Do this for 2 or 3 minutes to avoid any bleeding or bruising. Apply gentle but firm pressure on the injection site with your thumb and your index finger on the opposite side of the shaft. Once the syringe is empty, quickly pull the needle straight out. Push the plunger quickly to release all the medication. Adjust your hand so your thumb or index finger can push the plunger. The needle should be at a slight angle, with the plunger facing up at the 10 or 2 o’clock positions. Place the needle against the skin in the chosen area and slide the needle into the shaft. Be careful to hold only the head, so you’re not pulling any skin along the shaft. Using the other hand, pull the head of the penis out in front of you again. With one hand, hold the syringe between your thumb and your index and middle fingers, as though you were about to throw a dart. Remove the cap on the syringe and make sure the dose is correct and there are no bubbles in the syringe. Let go of the head of your penis and pick up the syringe with both hands. Once you’ve selected an area, clean it with an alcohol wipe. Be sure to avoid an area with a visible blood vessel. This avoids interference with the top of the shaft, where the blood vessels are, and the bottom of the shaft, where the urethra is located.Īlternating sides each time you inject can also help you avoid developing scar tissue. It’s important to remember that the injection must only be given on the sides of the shaft. Locate an area on the right or left side of the penis, midshaft, to perform the injection. If you’re not circumcised, pull the foreskin back before grasping the head. Once the medication is in the syringe, gently grasp the head of your penis between your thumb and forefinger and pull it straight out in front of you. If you don’t have access to one, you can use a sturdy plastic container, such as an empty detergent bottle with a cap. It’s best to use a container that’s been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The first step is to wash your hands and assemble your supplies on a clean surface. During the visit, your doctor will show you how to correctly administer the injection and how to do the injections at home. Your first injection should take place at your doctor’s office under supervision.

Navy Dauntless gunner was reported to have been credited with shooting down seven Mitsubishi A6M “Zero” fighters in two days. Navy warplane, the Dauntless also served in large numbers with the United States Marine Corps, which operated them from land based. SBDs went on to sink more Japanese vessels, including merchant and transport ships, than any other U.S. All the surfaces had large holes in them, and were accordingly nicknamed “Swiss cheese” divebrakes. On the undersides, the brake surfaces were located right the way across the fuselage. The wings had a unique brake assembly, which extended on both the upper and lower surfaces. That gave the gunner a wide field of fire. On entering the combat zone, the rear canopy was stowed in the fuselage and the guns deployed from their bay. In transit the weapons were stowed in the fuselage behind hinged doors. In the rear cockpit sat the radio operator, and it was also his job to operate the rear defensive armament, which consisted of a pair of 7.62mm (.30 caliber) Browning machine guns. It was an important portent for what could come less than a month later at the Battle of Midway. Dixon, commander of Bomber Two (VB-2), who was reporting that the Japanese carrier Shoho with 545 of its crew was sunk, at the cost of only three U.S. The radio airwaves were cluttered with transmissions from pilots, but then they heard, “Scratch one flat-top! Dixon to carrier. It was during the Battle of the Coral Sea on that the crews onboard the USS Lexington (CV-2) and USS Yorktown (CV-5) were unable to tell how the battle was going. Nicknamed “Slow But Deadly” by its pilots, the SBD was a very precise dive bomber that used special perforated dive brakes to make slower, controlled dives. However, it did far more than just prove to be the carrier-killer in early June 1942 – and from its conception in 1938 until late 1944, the SBD proved to be the most important American dive-bomber ever built. If the aircraft had done nothing else but fight at Midway, the Douglas SBD Dauntless would still be counted as among the most important aircraft of World War II, if not the entire 20th century. However, during the Battle of Midway, the SBD played a pivotal role in reversing the course of the Second World War in the Pacific. These are the most realistically proportioned sculpts of our offerings.Underpowered, vulnerable, lacking in range, and exhausting to fly for any length of time, there was little to love about the Douglas SBD Dauntless. EBard Models' attention to detail is unsurpassed. It is also much more detailed and realistically proportioned. Note: This sculpt is smaller than the out of the box A&A Dauntless, with a wingspan of approximately 26mm vs. Load up your carriers with magnetized, custom painted aircraft! The Dauntless accounted for more enemy ships sunk than any other aircraft in the Pacific. That's pretty incredible considering she is considered a "bomber". It is said the Dauntless scored more enemy aircraft kills than its own losses due to enemy action. Unlike almost all other dive bombers, the Dauntless would often tangle with enemy fighters and live to tell the tale. The Dauntless proved to have good handling characteristics, maneuverability and carried decent armament. The Douglas SBD Dauntless was the primary naval dive bomber from 1940 through 1944. As an art form comics became widely popular featuring in newspapers and magazines in the late 19 th and early 20 th centuries. Such as the Adam and Eve painting by German artist, Lucas Cranach the Elder.Īfter the invention of the printing press, comics became the latest iteration of sequential art. Particularly so during the renaissance when paintings often told the narrative of various biblical stories. Painting is another medium where sequential art can be seen. A modern example of sequential tapestry was a 77 metre long piece commissioned by Tourism Northern Ireland in 2018 to memorialise the hugely successful Game of Thrones tv series, known as the Game of Thrones Tapestry. The Bayeux Tapestry (contrary to the name it was in fact embroidered and not woven) however it remains the most recognisable example of a sequential tapestry piece as it depicts the story of the Norman conquest of England. This is a form of textile art which incorporates the skill of weaving with the art of conveying a story through images. An early surviving example of a narrative told through the use of sequential images is the Trajan’s Column in Rome which dates back to 113 AD. Greek artists used to sculpt images that would tell a story on friezes and vases. Egyptian hieroglyphs were a more evolved form of this which show a more methodical and organised depiction of their lifestyle.Īs civilisation progressed so did the art. The earliest examples of this can be found in caves which home rudimentary paintings seeking to transmit the prehistoric human experience in a sequential format. Wall painting is considered to be the first form of graphic communication and predates written communication. Let’s take a brief look at the evolution of sequential art and its various forms throughout history. In fact, the human race has been using visuals to convey information or ‘stories’ long before the invention of the written word. While The comic strip may be the most recognisable form of sequential art in today’s world, this art form actually predates comics by millennia. In some cases, it includes a combination of visuals and text thought text is not necessary for it to be considered sequential art. But first, let’s define what exactly it is… What is sequential art?Īs the name alludes to, sequential art refers to the use of visuals – such as drawings, images and/or photos – that are used in a sequence in order to tell or illustrate a story. In this article, we explore the various forms of sequential art. While comics are a form of sequential art there are many other disciplines that fall under this umbrella term. The term sequential art is often used interchangeably with the term comic, however there is much more to it than just that. On March 9 I ordered the Studio as M1-Ultra with 20 CPU-cores, 48 GPU Cores and 2 TB internal SSD. An expensive excuse to get a 32" display, I know )Īnd actually I'm not the apple-keynote person, but since my iMac was crumbling down, I hoped for a replacement that was powerful enough to do all the work I might dream of. That's when I realized at the March 8 event this year, the Mac Studio is exactly what I needed. While this solution worked to some degree, I found my limits in Photoshop very fast (with just 8 gigs of RAM) and dropping files from one computer and organizing files around different devices wasn't as easy. So the interim solution was to use an inexpensive M1 Mac Mini that I already had for some Photoshop painting and doing all the rest of the work on the recovered iMac, such as printing jobs, emails and small renderings. And no I didn't want to get my hands dirty, replacing an SSD on a 7 years old iMac. That means no dedicated port that passes through the speeds of an external NVME-SSD to get the old thing to be as speedy as the internal thing. The clean desktop not even an iMac allows forĮspecially since the late 2015 iMacs did not have the 3.2 gen USB-C yet at that time, only Thunderbolt 2. But, it wasn't quite the same and not up to speed as before. When my maxed out late 2015 - 4,0 GHz iMac died on me last year, it was possible to recover the dead internal drive from a time machine backup and use it with an external SSD. As some of you know, I'm a digital artist, but also into workplace ergonomy, which means I'm always trying to optimize my workspace to be more productive and healthy. |
